A little more info: brevets are long rides (200, 300, 400, or 600k), timed but not races, mainly unsupported. Riders follow cue sheets, check in at checkpoints. These are RUSA events, but membership is not required. This one starts in Casa Grande, is 190 miles total, has some moderate climbing, and loops down through Tucson. It starts at 6AM, in the dark, so good lights and some reflective clothing are required. This brevet has some food and drink support at two of the checkpoints, but mainly you're on your own.
