Thomas Jondall

Hello,

My name is Thomas Jondall, I'm 18 years old and I race for Landis/Trek White Mountain Road Club. I've recently been selected to race in Europe with the US Junior National Team. The team will be racing some Kermesses in Belgium and then go to Italy for the Giro della Lunigiana UCI 2.1 and Giro di Basilicata UCI 2.1. It has been an exciting year for me and I’m looking forward to this new challenge.

Scottsdale Cycling Festival - Criterium 10/2/2010

Landis/Trek (WMRC) ridersThe idea to add a day of criterium racing to the north Scottsdale cycling scene came from Brian Lemke, a Cave Creek resident who rides with the Landis Cyclery-Trek team. Lemke saw a gap between the Tour de Scottsdale's Thursday night party and Sunday ride and came to organizers with his plan.

The criterium will be held on Saturday, October 2nd.

More than two thousand cyclists from around the Valley and around the nation are expected at the Scottsdale Cycling Festival this fall. For the first time, the popular 7th Annual 70-mile Tour de Scottsdale citizen’s race that benefits the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy will be paired with a Criterium, adding an exciting competitive element for cyclists and spectators alike.

Register online at RacePlaceEvents.com. Online registration closes on Wednesday Sept. 29 at 11:59 p.m. (PST). Citizen cyclists must obtain one-day, $10 license.  Late Registration is available at 7 a.m. on Saturday at the Expo; a $10 Late Fee applies to all entries received on or after Oct. 1.

Free training rides September 5, 12, 19, and 26 help cyclists prepare for Scottsdale Cycling Festival

Cyclists can gear up for the Scottsdale Cycling Festival with several free training rides of various lengths offered during Sundays in September. Riders of any age or skill level preparing for the Oct. 3 70-mile Tour can get a head start on endurance training, get a feel for riding in a pack, enjoy the social side of cycling, and learn about bike handling skills such as gear selection and maintaining cadence.

Training rides—both a 25-mile and a 55-mile option—led by the Landis Cyclery / Trek Team are offered on Sunday’s beginning at 7 a.m. The ride routes will follow parts of the actual Tour de Scottsdale course in order to familiarize cyclists with what to expect on race day.

Free cycling clinics follow the conclusion of all training rides. Clinics begin at 10:30 a.m. in Market Street Plaza in DC Ranch.

One of the most important steps toward creating the Bicycle Safety Action Plan is to document the perspectives, concerns, and input, as it relates to bicycle safety, of residents from throughout the State of Arizona.
